Green Line - Fyrudden via Ämtö to Harstena

Ellen af Harstena

Fyrudden

Since the early 1950s, Fyrudden has been the main hub of the Gryt archipelago. Today, it is a lively and welcoming harbour with a guest marina, restaurant and ice-cream parlour. A golf course is located just 4 km away.

Fyrudden is easily reached by public transport, with bus 464 stopping directly at the harbour, making it a convenient starting point for exploring the archipelago.

Ämtö

We dock at the pier by Ämtö Stugby. Ämtö offers excellent swimming opportunities, including a sandy beach as well as smooth cliffs perfect for a refreshing dip.

Much of the island is protected as a nature reserve, with well-marked walking trails through varied landscapes. A small summer kiosk is open daily between 12:00 and 17:00, and kayaks and boats can be rented on site.

As the largest island in the Gryt archipelago, Ämtö offers plenty of space to find a quiet spot for swimming, fishing or simply enjoying the surroundings.

If you wish to stay overnight, cosy cabins with beautiful views over the water and the inner fairway are available.

Harstena

Harstena has been permanently inhabited since 1543 and is known for its well-preserved island community. Historically, the islanders made their living from seal hunting, a heritage that still shapes the character of the island today.

Visitors can enjoy locally smoked fish, a small bakery, a restaurant serving lunch during the boat stop, and accommodation for those who wish to stay overnight. In good weather, light refreshments are also available outdoors.

Harstena is a popular destination for leisure boats and a natural hub for exploring the surrounding archipelago.
